About Sports Injury Clinic Aesthetics Banbridge
Sports Injury Clinic Aesthetics Banbridge has been established for over 20 years and continues to evolve through education, professional development and the introduction of advanced, evidence-informed treatments. Since 2009, the clinic has operated from 10A Rathfriland Street, Banbridge, welcoming clients from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
My professional journey began in 2005, when I qualified as a Sports Scientist and developed a strong interest in the human body, anatomy, physiology, rehabilitation, and the science behind improving health, movement, and wellbeing. This led me to further develop my knowledge and qualifications within sports therapy and the assessment and treatment of sports and musculoskeletal injuries.
For eight years, I lectured in Sports and Exercise Sciences at Southern Regional College. During this period, I continued to expand my clinical knowledge, undertaking extensive study into myofascial pain and dysfunction, trigger point therapy, anatomy and human physiology. This academic and clinical background has remained an important foundation throughout my career and has shaped the evidence-informed approach I bring to my treatments today.
As the clinic continued to develop, 2022 marked another progression with the introduction of advanced spinal manipulation techniques. This allowed me to further expand the treatment options available to my patients, with the aim of improving mobility, reducing pain and supporting their return to normal activity and quality of movement. I undertook my training in manipulation techniques with lecturers registered with their respective professional governing bodies, including the General Osteopathic Council and General Chiropractic Council.
My Journey into Aesthetics
In October 2025, I began a new chapter in my professional career by progressing into the field of non-surgical aesthetics. For me, this was not about moving away from my clinical background, but about building on almost two decades of experience working with the human body and applying my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, tissue healing, and client care to an exciting and rapidly advancing area of practice.
Since beginning this pathway, I have continued to invest heavily in education and practical training, developing my knowledge and skills across a range of non-surgical aesthetic and regenerative treatments. My particular interest has been in treatments that aim to work with the body's own biological and regenerative processes to support skin quality, tissue rejuvenation, hair restoration and healthy ageing.
A major milestone in this journey has been achieving the VTCT Skills Level 5 Certificate in Non-surgical Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation. Completing this qualification represents far more to me than simply gaining another certificate. It reflects my commitment to developing a strong academic and clinical foundation in aesthetics, with an emphasis on anatomy and physiology, client consultation and assessment, treatment planning, infection prevention and control, safe practice, risk management, skin rejuvenation and the management of potential complications.
My Inspiration
What inspires me most about aesthetics is how quickly the field continues to develop. Modern aesthetics is increasingly focused not simply on changing appearance, but on skin health, regeneration, restoration and achieving natural-looking results.
My background has always encouraged me to understand why a treatment works rather than simply how to perform it. I want to understand the science, the anatomy, the evidence and the biological response behind every treatment I offer. This philosophy has followed me throughout my career and is something I will continue to bring into my aesthetic practice.
I believe that continuing education is essential within an industry that is constantly evolving. New technologies, products, techniques and clinical evidence will continue to change the treatments available to practitioners and their clients, and I want Sports Injury Clinic Aesthetics Banbridge to develop alongside those advances.
Looking to the Future
Achieving my VTCT Skills Level 5 qualification is not the end of my aesthetics journey; it is another important step forward.
My goal for the future is to continue advancing my qualifications, clinical knowledge and practical skills while carefully introducing innovative treatments that complement my existing experience. I have a particular interest in the future of regenerative aesthetics, skin rejuvenation, PRP therapy, hair restoration, advanced skin boosters and treatments that stimulate the body's natural repair and rejuvenation processes.
As aesthetic medicine and regenerative treatments continue to advance, I intend to continue attending specialist training, undertaking CPD and reviewing emerging clinical evidence so that the treatments offered within my clinic continue to develop responsibly.
After more than 19 years in clinical practice, one principle has remained consistent throughout my career: never stop learning. From qualifying as a Sports Scientist in 2005, through lecturing in Sports and Exercise Sciences, developing my sports injury clinic, advancing into spinal manipulation and beginning my aesthetics pathway in October 2025, each stage has built upon the one before it.
Achieving the VTCT Skills Level 5 Certificate in Non-surgical Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation is a milestone I am extremely proud of, but I also see it as the beginning of the next stage of my professional development.
The future of aesthetics is continually advancing — and my goal is to advance with it, while maintaining a strong focus on education, safety, evidence-informed practice and achieving the best possible outcomes for every client who places their trust in my clinic.
Do something today, your future self will thank you for.
